Potensic Atom SE vs DJI Mini 2 SE: which is the better budget drone?
I am comparing the Potensic Atom SE at around $150 and the DJI Mini 2 SE at around $299. Both have GPS and similar specs on paper. The Atom SE is half the price. Is the DJI worth double the money or is the Atom SE good enough?

The DJI Mini 2 SE is the objectively better drone on image quality, transmission reliability, software ecosystem, and long-term satisfaction. DJI's image processing pipeline produces cleaner, more natural-looking footage than the Atom SE from comparable conditions. OcuSync transmission handles urban interference better than the Atom SE's Wi-Fi-based system. The DJI Fly app is more polished. Tutorial resources are vastly larger for DJI.
But the Potensic Atom SE at $150 is the best non-DJI GPS drone at its price point by a wide margin. If your budget is genuinely $150 and cannot stretch, the Atom SE is the correct choice over any other $150 option and delivers a real GPS flying experience. If you can stretch $150 more to $299, the DJI Mini 2 SE is worth every dollar of the difference. If you can stretch to $299, do it. If you genuinely cannot, the Atom SE is a solid choice.
