What accessories do I need for the Autel EVO Lite Plus and which DJI accessories work with it?

I bought an Autel EVO Lite Plus instead of a DJI drone and now I am finding the accessory ecosystem is smaller. What are the best accessories for the EVO Lite Plus — ND filters, extra batteries, carrying case, SD cards? Are there any DJI accessories that work with the Autel, or do I need Autel-specific everything?

The EVO Lite Plus accessory ecosystem is smaller than DJI's but the key accessories are available. ND filters: Freewell makes EVO Lite Plus specific ND sets with correct lens mount dimensions (~$60-80 for a 4-pack). Do not use DJI ND filters — different mount dimensions, will not physically fit. Batteries: Autel official EVO Lite Plus batteries are required; DJI batteries do not transfer. Third-party alternatives exist but carry firmware compatibility risk. Carrying case: No Autel-specific bag is needed — the Lowepro DroneGuard BP 400 or a general adjustable foam drone backpack accommodates the EVO Lite Plus (folded ~19 x 9 x 7cm). MicroSD cards: Standard V30+ cards (Samsung Pro Plus, SanDisk Extreme) — fully universal across all brands, no compatibility issue.

Key rule: ND filters and batteries are Autel-specific. MicroSD cards, landing pads, and carrying bags are universal. DJI accessories generally do not physically transfer to the EVO Lite Plus.

The EVO Lite Plus's biggest accessory advantage is the adjustable aperture (f/2.8-f/11). You can close the aperture to f/8 or f/11 in bright light to achieve the correct slow shutter speed without needing an ND filter — something DJI drones with fixed apertures cannot do. This significantly reduces the urgency of buying a full ND set immediately as a new EVO Lite Plus owner.

The adjustable aperture gives you meaningful exposure control that DJI Mini and mid-range drones lack entirely. Closing to f/5.6 or f/8 in bright conditions lets you hit the 180-degree shutter rule without a filter. ND filters are still useful for full midday sun (f/11 may not be enough at highest brightness) and for situations where you want to keep aperture wide for maximum sharpness while reducing exposure. But the aperture adjustment buys you time before the ND set becomes necessary.

Autel's official Fly More Bundle for the EVO Lite Plus includes two additional batteries, a charging hub, and a carrying bag — the same bundle logic as DJI's Fly More Combo. The bundle is more economical than buying components separately. The EVO Lite Plus's rated 35-minute flight time (real-world 28-32 minutes) means the same three-battery recommendation applies as for DJI drones — one battery is rarely enough for a productive shoot session.

The Autel charging hub operates the same sequential charging principle as the DJI hub — charges batteries from highest to lowest charge level, one at a time from a single wall adapter. Plug everything in overnight and wake up with all batteries charged.

The EVO Lite Plus at 835g requires a noticeably larger bag than a DJI Mini series drone. Autel-specific bags are limited in selection. A general-purpose drone backpack with adjustable foam (Lowepro DroneGuard BP 400 or 450, or a camera backpack like the Shimoda Explore 40 with drone cube insert) works better than looking for an EVO Lite Plus specific case.

The EVO Lite Plus folds to approximately the same size envelope as the DJI Mavic 3 series — if you see a case reviewed as fitting the Mavic 3, it will likely fit the EVO Lite Plus with similar dimensions. Measure the folded drone (approximately 19 x 9 x 7cm) and compare to bag interior dimensions before purchasing. A 90cm landing pad is also appropriate for the EVO Lite Plus's larger footprint compared to the 65cm pad for DJI Mini drones.

The SkyLink 2.0 controller included with the EVO Lite Plus has a built-in screen — this is a meaningful advantage over DJI drones that come with the RC-N1 requiring a phone. No controller upgrade is needed since the EVO Lite Plus already ships with an integrated display controller at the standard price point. This removes the most common DJI aftermarket purchase from your needed accessories list.

The EVO Lite Plus controller display is functional but lower brightness than DJI RC 2's 1000-nit screen. In direct sunlight, some pilots find it moderately readable but not as bright as the RC 2. Adjust your workflow for sunlit conditions — angling away from direct sun or using a sun shade attached to the controller can improve readability if it becomes an issue on your specific shoots.

For pilots switching from a DJI setup or adding the EVO Lite Plus as a second drone: SD cards and landing pads are fully universal between brands and transfer without issue. ND filters and batteries are brand-specific and do not physically transfer between DJI and Autel drones. Controller accessories (phone holders, tablet mounts) may or may not fit depending on specific mount design — verify compatibility explicitly.

The landing pad, SD cards, and carrying bag you already own from a DJI kit will almost certainly work with the EVO Lite Plus. If you are a primarily DJI ecosystem pilot adding an EVO Lite Plus, the incremental accessory cost is ND filters and batteries only — everything else reuses your existing kit.
